,in winter, ski-touring dawn-partrol reveals the magic of a waking mountain, in summer the extreme heat of southern France urges for very early morning rides. Long sunrise tour of some famous wine villages shredding the forest paths and indulging the views of a waking Ventoux through Seguret, Vaison-la-Romaine, Rasteau, Cairanne and the hills around.  Heading off on a ski touring "dawn patrol" before sunrise allows one to witness the magic of the end of night and the promess of a new day as well as being overwhelmed by the mind blowing colors and contratst in the sky while having the space all for oneself, indulging the calm and the vanishing night wildlife (a fox trotting on the ridge of a snowy hill that morning). |
